Accessing the Jobs Page
Desktop
- Click "Discover" in the navigation, then click "Jobs" in the submenu
- Or go directly to

Mobile
- Tap Discover in the bottom navigation, then tap Jobs in the submenu
Browsing Available Jobs
Job Listings
Jobs are displayed as HeroCards, sorted by newest first. Each job listing shows:
- Job title - The position name
- Business name - Who's hiring (links to the business profile)
- Location - Where the job is based
- Job type - Full-time, part-time, casual, etc.
- Pay range - Salary or hourly rate (if provided)
- Posted date - When the listing was added
- Town badge - Shows town name when viewing area-wide
Filtering Jobs
The jobs page has a collapsible filter panel. Tap the Filters button to expand it.
Filter by job type:
- Full Time
- Part Time
- Casual
- Contract
- Temporary
- Permanent
- Apprenticeship
- Internship
- Volunteer
Filter by category:
- Job categories are loaded from the database (e.g., Hospitality, Retail, Trade, etc.)
- Tap one or more category buttons to filter
Clear filters:
- A "Clear all filters" button appears when any filters are active
- The Filters button shows a badge with the number of active filters

Click Any Job Listing
The job detail page includes:
About the Role:
- Full job description
- Responsibilities
- Requirements
- Hours/schedule
About the Business:
- Business name and description
- Location and contact info
- Link to business profile

- Application instructions
- Apply button (if logged in)

Applying for Jobs
Requirements
To apply for jobs on Loclie, you need:
- A Loclie account (create one free)
- To be logged in
How to Apply
Application methods vary by job. The business chooses how they want to receive applications:
Internal applications (Apply on Loclie):
- Find a job you're interested in
- Click on the job to view full details
- Review the description, requirements, and qualifications
- Click "Apply Now" button
- Fill in the application form:
- Full Name (required)
- Email Address (required)
- Phone Number (optional)
- Cover Letter / Message (optional)
- Click "Submit Application"
Email applications:
- Some jobs have an "Apply via Email" button that opens your email client
External applications:
- Some jobs link to an external website where you apply directly
After Applying
- You will see a green confirmation message: "Application submitted successfully!"
- The business will review your application and contact you if interested
- You cannot apply for the same job twice (a "You have already applied" message will appear)
After You Apply
On the Job Detail Page
Once you have submitted an application for a job:
- The "Apply Now" button is replaced with a green "You have already applied for this job" message
- This appears automatically when you revisit the job page while logged in
What Happens Next
- The business receives your application details (name, email, phone, cover letter)
- They will contact you directly if they are interested
- Applications are private and only visible to the business you applied to

Full Time
- Regular ongoing employment
- Typically 38+ hours per week
- Employee benefits usually included
Part Time
- Regular ongoing employment
- Less than 38 hours per week
- Pro-rata benefits
Casual
- No guaranteed hours
- Flexible scheduling
- Higher hourly rate (casual loading)
Contract
- Fixed-term employment
- Specific duration or project
- May be full-time or part-time hours
Temporary
- Short-term employment
- Defined end date or duration
Permanent
- Ongoing role with no set end date
Apprenticeship
- Learning a trade or skill
- Combines work with formal training
Internship
- Work experience, often for students or graduates
Volunteer
- Unpaid community or charity work

Home Town Jobs
When you set your home town in your profile:
- Jobs in your town appear first
- Can toggle to view hometown jobs when traveling
Browse Other Towns
- Use the town selector
- Or filter jobs by location
- Browse opportunities across the region
Area-Wide Viewing
See jobs from your entire Local Government Area:
If your town belongs to a Local Government Area, you can toggle between:
- Town View - See jobs from your selected town only (shows town name with MapPin icon)
- Local View - See jobs from all towns in your Local Government Area (shows "Local" with Globe icon)
How to toggle:
- Look for the pill-style toggle in the top-right of the Jobs page header
- Tap the town name button or the Local button to switch views
- Jobs from other towns show a town name badge indicating where they are based

- More job opportunities in your region
- Find positions at businesses in neighbouring towns
- Great for jobs within commuting distance

Is it free to apply for jobs?
Yes! Browsing and applying for jobs on Loclie is completely free.
Do I need an account to browse jobs?
No. You can browse jobs without an account. However, you need an account to apply.
How do I know if my application was received?
You'll see a confirmation after submitting. You can also check your application status in your dashboard.
Can I withdraw an application?
Currently, applications cannot be withdrawn. Contact the business directly if needed.
How long do jobs stay posted?
Jobs remain posted until the business removes them or marks the position as filled.
Who can see my application?
Only the business you applied to can see your application details. Applications are private.
