Save your favorite businesses, events, amenities, and towns on Loclie to quickly access them later.

Why Save Favorites?

Saving favorites helps you:

• Quick access to businesses, events, and amenities you love
• Save towns for easy browsing of their local content
• Keep track of things you want to revisit
• Access your saved items from any device when logged in

All saves sync across your devices when logged in!

What You Can Save

You can favorite the following types of content:

• Businesses - Save businesses you want to revisit or recommend
• Events - Save upcoming events you are interested in
• Amenities - Save useful local amenities (parks, facilities, etc.)
• Towns - Save entire towns for quick access to their local content

How to Save a Favorite

Businesses, Events, and Amenities

1. Navigate to any business, event, or amenity page
2. Look for the heart icon on the listing or detail page
3. Click/tap the heart icon
4. The heart fills in red to indicate it is saved
5. Saved!

Towns

1. Navigate to a town page (e.g., by clicking on a town from search or the homepage)
2. Look for the heart icon with a "Save" label on the town page
3. Click/tap the heart icon
4. The heart fills in red and the label changes to "Saved"
5. Saved!

Viewing Your Saved Items

Loclie has two separate pages for viewing your saved content:

Favorites (Businesses, Events, Amenities)

1. Go to your Dashboard (click your name in the header)
2. Under Quick Actions, click "Favorites"
3. This opens the Favorites page at /dashboard/favorites
4. Use the filter tabs (All, Businesses, Events, Amenities) to browse by type
5. Each item shows its name, description, and a link to its detail page

Saved Places (Towns)

1. Go to your Dashboard
2. Navigate to Saved Places at /dashboard/saved-places
3. View all your saved towns with their state and a link to their town page

Removing Saved Items

From the Favorites or Saved Places Page

1. Go to your Favorites or Saved Places page
2. Find the item you want to remove
3. Click/tap the trash icon next to it
4. The item is removed from your list

From the Detail Page

You can also unsave any item by tapping the filled heart icon on the item's page. The heart will unfill, removing it from your favorites.

Syncing Across Devices

When you save an item:

• Instantly synced to the server
• Appears on all your devices when logged in
• No manual action needed

Sign in with the same account on all devices - Everything syncs!

If favorites are missing:

• Check you are logged into the correct account
• Check your internet connection
• Refresh the page

Tips

DO:

Save items you visit often

• Quick access to your go-to businesses and amenities
• Perfect for tracking upcoming events

Save towns you are planning to visit

• Research before your trip
• Find events and businesses in advance

DON'T:

Don't worry about limits

• Save as many items as you want
• Remove ones you no longer need to keep your list manageable

Do I need an account to save favorites?

Yes - Favorites are tied to your account. This allows syncing across devices.

How many favorites can I save?

Unlimited! Save as many businesses, events, amenities, and towns as you want.

Can others see what I save?

No - All saved items are private. Only you can see your favorites.

What happens if I delete my account?

All saved favorites are deleted and cannot be recovered.

Favorites vs Following

Loclie has two separate ways to interact with businesses, clubs, and groups: Favorites and Following. They serve different purposes.

Favorites (Heart Icon)

• Purpose: Bookmark an item for quick access later
• Icon: Heart
• What it does: Adds the item to your Favorites list on your dashboard
• Notifications: None — favoriting is a personal bookmark only
• Available on: Businesses, events, amenities, attractions, towns

Following (Bell Icon)

• Purpose: Subscribe to updates from that entity
• Icon: Bell
• What it does: Campaigns and updates from followed entities appear in the "From Your Follows" section of the What's On popup
• Cross-town: Updates appear even if the entity is in a different town from the one you are currently viewing
• Available on: Businesses, clubs, groups

Comparison

You can favorite and follow the same entity — they are independent actions.

Troubleshooting

Favorites Not Appearing

Check:

1. Logged into the correct account
2. Internet connection is active

Try:

• Refresh the page
• Sign out and back in
• Check you are on the correct account

Can't Save an Item

Possible reasons:

1. Not logged in - Sign in or create an account
2. Item already saved - Check your favorites page
3. Connection issue - Check your internet
