Clubs

Creating a Club

List your organised club or venue on Loclie to reach locals and visitors in your town.

Time to complete: 10 minutes

Who Can Create a Club?

Anyone with a Loclie account can create a club listing. You just need:

  • A Loclie account (create one free)
  • An organised, venue-based club to list (RSL, bowling club, surf club, sporting association, etc.)

Clubs vs Groups

This page is for creating organised, venue-based clubs. If you want to start an informal community group (book club, parents group, hobby meetup), see Creating a Group instead.

Creating Your Club

Step 1: Access Club Creation

  1. Sign in to the Manage portal at manage.loclie.com.au
  2. Navigate to Clubs from the sidebar
  3. Click "Create Club"

Step 2: Club Details

Club Name (required):

  • The official name of your club or venue (3-100 characters)
  • Example: "Coffs Harbour RSL Club", "Byron Bay Surf Club"

Description (required):

  • What your club offers (10-1000 characters)
  • Facilities, services, and what visitors can expect
  • Character count is displayed as you type

Step 3: Town (required)

  • Start typing to search for your town
  • Select from the autocomplete suggestions
  • This determines which town your club appears in

Step 4: Organisation Type

Select the type of organisation you are registering:

  • Club (default) - RSLs, bowling clubs, surf clubs, sporting clubs, and other venue-based clubs
  • Church - Churches, parishes, and faith-based organisations
  • Community Organisation - Community centres, neighbourhood houses, and similar organisations

Registering a School?

Schools now have their own dedicated section on Loclie with enhanced content safety features. See Creating a School instead.

Why Organisation Type Matters

Churches get contextual labels throughout the dashboard (e.g., "Church Members" instead of "Club Members"). They can also use invite codes and subscriber-only campaigns to communicate with their community.

Step 5: Category (optional)

Select the category that best describes your club:

  • RSL Club
  • Bowling Club
  • Golf Club
  • Sporting Club
  • Surf Club
  • Sailing Club
  • Fishing Club
  • Country Club
  • Community Club
  • Returned Services Club
  • Workers Club
  • Leagues Club
  • Other

Step 6: Address (optional)

  • Enter the physical street address of your club
  • This will be displayed on your club's listing and used for map placement

Step 7: Contact Information

Phone (optional):

  • Main contact phone number for the club

Email (optional):

  • Contact email address

Website (optional):

  • Your club's website URL

Add your club's social media profiles:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • X/Twitter
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn

Step 9: Image (optional)

Upload a photo of your club:

  • One image upload slot is available during creation
  • Additional images can be added after creation via the club management page

Step 10: Features & Attributes (optional)

Select attributes that describe your club's facilities and offerings. These are grouped into four categories:

Food & Drink - Serves food, BYO alcohol, Licensed venue, Takeaway available

Entertainment & Activities - Live entertainment, Gaming/pokies, Sports facilities, Free entry

Family & Accessibility - Kid-friendly, Pet-friendly, Wheelchair accessible

Facilities & Logistics - Accommodation, Outdoor area, Takes bookings, WiFi available, Has parking

These attributes improve your club's visibility in search results. For example, marking "Kid-friendly" means your club will appear when someone searches "family-friendly clubs."

Step 11: Terms & Agreement

  • You must agree to the Terms of Use before submitting

Step 12: Submit

  1. Review your club details
  2. Click "Register Club"
  3. Your club will be submitted for staff review

Note: All clubs are reviewed by staff before becoming visible. This helps maintain quality and accuracy. You'll be notified once your club is approved.
