Track and manage your job applications on Loclie.

Overview

When you apply for jobs on Loclie, all your applications are tracked in one place. You can see the status of each application and know when businesses have viewed them.


Applying for Jobs

Application Methods

Jobs on Loclie can use different application methods depending on how the business has set it up:

Internal Application (in-app form)

  • Click "Apply Now" on the job detail page
  • Fill in the application form (name, email, phone, cover letter)
  • Click "Submit Application"
  • Your application is saved and tracked in your dashboard

Email Application

  • Click "Apply via Email" on the job detail page
  • Your email client opens with the business's email address
  • Send your application directly

External URL Application

  • Click "Apply on External Site" on the job detail page
  • You are taken to an external website to apply

Note: Only internal (in-app) applications are tracked in your Loclie dashboard. Email and external applications are handled outside of Loclie.

Application Form Fields

When applying via the in-app form, you will be asked for:

  • Full Name (required)
  • Email Address (required)
  • Phone Number (optional)
  • Cover Letter / Message (optional) - Tell the employer why you are a great fit

Accessing Your Applications

Desktop

  1. Click your name in the header to go to the Dashboard
  2. Under Quick Actions, click "My Applications"
  3. Or go directly to /dashboard/applications

Mobile

  1. Tap your name badge in the header to go to the Dashboard
  2. Under Quick Actions, tap "My Applications"

Application Status

Understanding Statuses

Each application has a status indicating where it is in the process:

Submitted

  • Application sent successfully
  • Waiting for the business to review

Under Review

  • Business is actively reviewing applications
  • Your application is being considered

Shortlisted

  • You have made it to the shortlist
  • Business is considering you among top candidates

Interviewed

  • You have had an interview
  • Awaiting a decision

Offered

  • You have been offered the position
  • Awaiting your response

Accepted

  • You have been selected
  • The business will contact you directly

Rejected

  • Application was not successful
  • You may apply for other positions

Withdrawn

  • You have withdrawn your application

Application List

What You'll See

Your applications page shows each application as a card with:

  • Job title - The position you applied for
  • Business name - Who you applied to
  • Business address - Location of the business
  • Status badge - Current application status with colour coding
  • Date applied - When you submitted
  • Viewed indicator - Whether the business has seen your application ("Viewed" or "New" badge)
  • Job description preview - A brief snippet of the job description
  • Business response - If the business has responded, their message is shown
  • View Job Posting link - Takes you back to the original job listing

"Viewed by Business" Indicator

What It Means

When your application shows a purple "Viewed" badge:

  • The business owner has opened your application
  • They have seen your details and message
  • They may be considering your application

When your application shows a blue "New" badge:

  • The business has not yet viewed your application

Business Responses

If a business responds to your application, their message appears directly on the application card. The response includes:

  • The response message from the business
  • The date the business responded
  • Visual styling that matches the application status (e.g., different colours for rejections vs. other responses)

Tips for Applicants

DO:

Check regularly

  • Monitor your application statuses
  • Respond promptly if contacted

Apply strategically

  • Quality over quantity
  • Tailor your cover letter for each application

Keep contact info accurate

  • Ensure you provide a valid email and phone number
  • Businesses may contact you directly outside of Loclie

DON'T:

Apply repeatedly

  • One application per job (the system prevents duplicates)
  • Attempting to re-apply will show an error message

Expect instant responses

  • Businesses review at their own pace
  • Be patient after applying

If You Haven't Heard Back

What to Do

  1. Check the status - See if the "Viewed" badge appears
  2. Wait a reasonable time - Give businesses time to review
  3. Consider following up - Contact the business directly if appropriate
  4. Keep applying - Don't wait on a single application

Timeline Expectations

  • Viewing - Usually within 1-2 weeks
  • Decisions - Can take several weeks
  • Contact - Businesses reach out directly

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit an application after submitting?

No. Once submitted, applications cannot be modified. Make sure your information is correct before submitting.


Can I withdraw an application?

Currently, applications cannot be withdrawn through Loclie. Contact the business directly if needed.


Will I be notified of status changes?

You may receive notifications when businesses respond to your application. Check your applications page regularly for the latest status updates.


What if I applied by mistake?

Contact the business directly to explain the situation.


Can businesses see my other applications?

No. Each business only sees the application you sent them. Your other applications are private.
