Creating a School

Register your school on Loclie to share events, campaigns, and updates with parents, students, and the wider community.

Who Can Create a School?

Anyone with a Loclie account can register a school. You just need:

This page is for registering educational institutions. If you want to list an RSL, bowling club, or sporting club, see Creating a Club instead.


Creating Your School

Step 1: Access School Creation

  1. Sign in to the Manage portal at manage.loclie.com.au
  2. Navigate to Schools from the sidebar
  3. Click "Create School"

Step 2: School Name (required)

  • Enter the official name of your school (3-150 characters)
  • Example: "Berrigan Public School", "Finley High School", "Tocumwal Kindergarten"

Step 3: Description (required)

  • Describe your school and what it offers (10-2000 characters)
  • Include key information like year levels, programs, and facilities
  • Character count is displayed as you type

Step 4: Category

Select the category that best describes your school:

  • Primary School - Primary and elementary schools
  • Secondary School - High schools and secondary colleges
  • College - TAFE, community colleges, and further education
  • Kindergarten - Early learning centres and preschools
  • Special School - Specialist educational institutions

Step 5: Town (required)

  • Start typing to search for your town
  • Select from the autocomplete suggestions
  • This determines which town your school appears in
  • Enter the physical street address of your school
  • This is displayed on your listing and used for map placement
  • Helps parents and visitors find your school

Step 7: Contact Information

Phone (optional):

  • Main school phone number

Email (optional):

  • School contact email address

Website (optional):

  • Your school's website URL

Add your school's social media profiles:

  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • X/Twitter
  • YouTube
  • LinkedIn

Step 9: School Image (optional)

Upload a photo of your school:

  • One image upload slot is available during creation
  • Additional images can be added after creation via the management page
  • A clear photo of the school entrance or grounds works best

Step 10: Terms & Agreement

  • You must agree to the Terms of Use before submitting

Step 11: Submit

  1. Review your school details
  2. Click "Register School"
  3. Your school will be submitted for staff review

Admin Approval Required

All schools are reviewed by Loclie staff before becoming visible. This helps maintain quality and accuracy. You will be notified once your school is approved.


After Submission

What Happens Next

  1. Your school enters the approval queue
  2. Loclie staff review the listing for accuracy
  3. Once approved, your school appears in search and browse results
  4. You receive a notification confirming approval

You're Now the School Owner

As the owner, you can:

  • Edit school details, images, and contact information
  • Create campaigns for members
  • Create events visible to the community
  • Set up groups for sport teams, student clubs, and parent committees
  • Generate invite codes for parents and students
  • Appoint administrators and staff

First Steps After Approval

  1. Generate invite codes - Create codes for parents and students to join
  2. Create groups - Set up sport teams, student clubs, or class groups
  3. Post an announcement - Welcome your community with an announcement box update
  4. Create an event - Advertise your next school fair or open day
  5. Add more images - Upload additional photos via the management page

School Visibility

Where Your School Appears

  • Ask Bar results - Discoverable through AI-powered search
  • Direct links - Share your school's Loclie URL
  • QR codes - Generate codes for newsletters and printed materials

Not in Clubs Browse

Schools are excluded from the general clubs browse page to keep that section focused on venue-based clubs. Schools are discoverable via the Ask Bar, direct links, and QR codes.
