Finding Businesses

From the Businesses Page

Tap Explore in the bottom navigation, then tap Businesses in the submenu
Browse all businesses in your selected town
Use search, category filters, and sorting to find what you need

From the Ask Bar

Use natural language on the home page:

"Coffee shops open now"
"Where can I get breakfast?"

From the Map

Go to the Map tab
See business markers on the map
Click any marker to see a popup with business details
Tap the business name to open its full detail page

From a Direct Link

Receive a link from a friend or in an email
Click the link to go directly to the business page

Businesses Listing Page

How It Works

The businesses page shows all businesses in your currently selected town, displayed as a vertical list of HeroCards.

Page features:

Search bar - Filter businesses by name
Hierarchical category filter - Parent categories with expandable subcategories (tap a parent category, then optionally select a subcategory to narrow results further)
Sort dropdown - Sort by Alphabetical or Newest First
Results count - Total businesses found
Infinite scroll - More businesses load automatically as you scroll down

HeroCard Business Display

Each business is displayed as a HeroCard showing:

Business name
Tagline (if set)
Category badges (supports multiple categories)
Business image (if available)
Opening hours status (Open Now badge)
Accommodation and food service indicators
Link to the full detail page

Business Detail Page

Page Layout (Top to Bottom)

Image - Main business photo (responsive, cropped)
Header Card - Name, tagline, category badges, description
Announcement - Business updates/announcements (if any)
Active Campaigns - Current promotions from the business (if any)
Experiences & Activities - Experiences and activities offered by the business (if any)
Opening Hours - Day-by-day breakdown with "Open now" badge
Contact Information - Address, phone, email, website, menu link, social media icons
Action Buttons - Call, Book, Show on Map, Directions

Header Section

What you see:

Business name (large heading)
Tagline in italics (if provided)
Category badges (colour-coded, supports multiple categories)
Business description

Opening Hours

Display format:

Day-by-day listing (Mon through Sun)
Times shown in 12-hour format (e.g., 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Current day highlighted
"Closed" shown in red for closed days
"Open now" badge (green) when currently open
Supports multiple hour sets displayed in a table format (e.g., separate kitchen and bar hours)

Contact Information

The contact card shows (when available):

Contact name (if the business has made it public)
Address with MapPin icon
Phone - Tap to call, displayed in Australian format (xx xxxx xxxx)
Email - Tap to open email client
Website - Shows domain name, opens in new tab
Menu - Link to view menu (shown for food service businesses)
Social media icons - Links to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and LinkedIn profiles (shown when available)

Follow Button

On the business detail page, you will see a bell icon alongside the heart (favorite) icon. Tapping the bell follows the business, meaning their campaigns and updates will appear in the "From Your Follows" section of the What's On popup — even if you later switch to a different town. See Saving Favorites for more on the difference between favorites and following.

Action Buttons

Primary actions:

Call - Tap to call the business directly
Book - Opens booking URL (if the business has one)

Map actions (shown when business has coordinates):

Show on Map - Opens the Loclie map centred on the business
Directions - Opens a directions modal with options for Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze

Browsing Tips

Before Visiting

Check:

Open/Closed status and current hours
Location and how to get there
Contact info (call ahead if needed)
Any announcements or active campaigns

Save for Later

Save businesses to your favorites from the business detail page
Access saved businesses from your profile

Claiming a Business

If you're the business owner:

You can claim the business listing from its page on app.loclie.com.au
Once approved, manage your listing on the Manage portal
Update your information, hours, photos, campaigns, and job listings from the Manage portal

Troubleshooting

"No businesses found"

Try:

Check that you have a town selected in the header
Clear any active category filters (tap "All")
Clear the search bar
Check your spelling

"Map not loading on business page"
